About Early Learning

The Early Learning department at the NWESD works toward a vision that all children have high-quality early learning experiences that support optimal growth and development leading to success in school and life. We would like to see that all children are ready for school and all schools are ready for children.

Training for Early Care and Learning Professionals

The NWESD Early Learning team is focused on offering learning opportunities that support early learning and care professionals in areas where there is an unmet need for training. Though we are able to offer some of these professional learning opportunities with support from grants, we can also tailor offerings, based on the emerging needs in our area. Some examples include:

  • An Early Learning Community of Practice
  • Foundations in Early Numeracy (workshops for teachers and training of trainers for coaches)
  • An Early Learning Summit
  • Supporting Young Dual Language Learners in Childcare and Preschool Environments
  • Early Learning PLC
  • PreK Least Restrictive Environment Coding
  • Conscious Discipline Series
  • Early Learning Fellows Network
  • Inclusive Transitional Kindergarten Network and Support
  • Transitional Kindergarten Support
  • Pre-School Inclusion Champions Network (PIC)
  • Coordinated Recruitment and Enrollment Technical Assistance
