Summary:
This position serves as the primary point of contact for the NW Washington STEM network and the Career Connect Washington Regional Coordinating Network. This role will work in collaboration with the other regional Networks statewide to support STEM initiatives and Career Connected Learning programs in our region through creating learning opportunities, leading and collaborating with key partners, and sharing data with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
- Convene and lead outcome-focused collaborations with industry, community-based organizations, education systems, and other key partners as needed to drive the work for STEM Learning.
- Collaborate closely with NWESD Career Connected Learning Coordinator.
- Serve as Director of the NW Washington STEM Network that acts as a catalyst to increase STEM awareness & aupport for STEM education in Skagit, San Juan, Island and Whatcom Counties.
- Actively partner with Snohomish County STEM Network Director and collaborate with the Skagit STEM Program Manager.
- Respond to inquiries and provide technical assistance to help expand STEM learning programs in the region.
- Align work and outcomes to the region’s economic needs in collaboration with industry and workforce development.
- Collaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals in order to increase awareness and disseminate information about STEM learning opportunities and help create equitable access for all students and families.
- Foster trust and increase opportunities in historically marginalized communities around STEM Learning.
- Consolidate and share data for the Regional Network with internal and external stakeholders as allowable and responsive to privacy considerations.
- In partnership with the Communications Specialist, manage the content for the Regional Network website and social media messaging.
- Proactively engage, co-create, and promote STEM learning opportunities for employers, youth, parents, and community members.

- Knowledge of the current literature, trends, and developments in the field of STEM instruction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in STEM required. Experience working with K-12 systems preferred. WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance required. Valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of liability insurance required.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an office environment; however, travel may be required for workshops or conference attendance. Lifts and carries a maximum of 30 pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
Hazards: Those present in a normal office environment. Lifting and moving tables and chairs for workshop setup is a potential hazard if proper safety procedures are not adhered to. Routine travel may pose potential hazards including driving in inclement weather.
