Position Summary

The Migrant Services Coordinator works in collaboration with NWESD staff, OSPI, and local districts to support schools, migrant students, and their families through professional development, technical assistance, improving access to resources, and collaborative project development to increase migrant student achievement, graduation rates, and engagement or reengagement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in education required in an Education, Human Services, or other related field; Master’s Degree in education preferred. Experience working with migrant students and families or community services preferred. Bilingual/biliterate skills in English and Spanish preferred. Experience working within the PreK-12 environment preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted which provides the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position. WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance required.
Employment Conditions and Benefits
This position is scheduled for 215 days per year, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Individuals who possess a current, valid Washington State teaching certificate will receive an additional 4% in compensation. This position is anticipated for the 2026-27 school year only, with possibility of continued employment dependent on funding.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Work is performed primarily in an office environment; however, travel is required (including some overnight travel) across western Washington region. Sitting and standing for extended periods of time may be required. Lifts and carries a maximum of 40 pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position. This position is eligible to telecommute per policy 5225.
Hazards: Those present in a normal office environment. Routine travel may pose potential hazards including traveling in inclement weather.
Salary Range
