Summary:

This position will organize, create, market, and manage classes within a Learning Management System to provide asynchronous courses for teachers, paraeducators, administrators, and other clock hour eligible educators.

Essential Functions:

  • Create professional development opportunities inclusive of asynchronous online formats in support of critical and timely professional learning for educators across the state.
  • Develop classes in a range of disciplines and create class shell when appropriate in Canvas or other Learning Management Software (LMS).
  • Coordinates with other relevant education and content area experts within the NWESD as well as outside organizations to develop and modify online classes to meet the needs of educators.
  • Participate in relevant committee and professional development work groups.
  • Modify current in person professional learning opportunities to an asynchronous format.
  • Market online class opportunities through various networks and coordinate calendar efforts with appropriate NWESD staff.
  • Manage each class in LMS and pdEnroller, including grading, correspondence, etc.
  • Support educators in obtaining clock hours.
  • Maintain course records in compliance with appropriate records retention schedule.
  • Track necessary data to measure program effectiveness. Advocate for program adjustments to better meet needs of educators as indicated by data.
  • Keeps abreast of developments and best practices in the delivery of online professional development courses for adult learners.
  • Collaborate and work effectively with the larger Teaching and Learning Team and other NWESD department staff ensuring that successful outcomes are met.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of best practices related to remote learning.
  • Knowledge and application of ADA laws best practices.
  • Knowledge and application of copyright law and fair use.
  • Knowledge in multiple educational domains including math, science, technology, SEL, behavior,equity, health, and other like subjects.
  • Ability and willingness to gain knowledge in unfamiliar subject areas. Skill in the use of, or ability to learn pdEnroller, clock hour management software.
  • Skills in Microsoft Suite, Google, as well as other office and educational software.
  • Ability to collaborate and network in person, online, and written communication.
  • Ability to deliver professional learning online or in person.
  • Ability to analyze issues, problem solve, and create plans both independently and with a team.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible, working some evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, successful P-16 teaching experience preferred. Experience with the use of technology and learning management systems. Demonstrated experience teaching professional learning as well as experience managing LMS, workshops and special events. WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance required.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in an office environment. Lifts and carries a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position. This position is telecommute eligible per Policy 5225.
