Audience

We cordially invite K-12 educators of Indigenous, Latin American migrant students to the no-cost, 4-day, in-person Migrant-Inclusive Teaching Summit 2022 (MITS)

The agenda for this four-day event will be focused on:   

  • Increasing capacity for integrating educational technology into migrant-inclusive instruction 
  • Accessing and creating culturally sustaining instructional resources   
  • Serving multilingual and newcomer migrant learners and their families  
  • Responding to priority needs/interventions as identified by regional educators and migrant parent advisory councils  
  • Advocating for migrant students, families, and communities

Each day of programming will include opportunities for whole-group, small-group, and individual learning, as well as meal breaks and ample opportunity for connecting with colleagues. More details regarding our agenda will be tailored to participants’ interests/on-the-ground needs and shared as they become confirmed.

What to expect:

  • Meals & Accommodations: provided
  • Commitment: full, 4-day, in-person participation
  • Clock Hours: 21 ‘equity’ clock hours available for purchase (registered participants will receive pdEnroller information after submission of the application form).
  • Stipend: $600.00 for full participation and feedback submission
  • Travel Reimbursement: up to $200.00* 

*To include federal-rate mileage reimbursement as well as any additional toll/ferry fees, as needed.
