After 26 months of weathering a global pandemic, the first thing I must say to each and every one of you readers is: THANK YOU for your tireless service to students and families, no matter what! And with June just around the corner, spring isn’t the only thing in bloom! It’s officially planning season for this summer’s Migrant Education Program (MEP) programming!

By now, OSPI’s Office of Migrant Education has notified all eligible districts of their final funding allocation. With that, NWESD’s Migrant Services team is here to provide comprehensive technical assistance and iGrant support. Throughout every step of program development, service delivery, and even end-of-summer reporting, NWESD’s MEP coordinators are committed to navigating the journey with you and your team, beginning to end. They’re also brimming with great ideas, models, and strategies to share: from kit-based curriculum and hybrid programs that braid experiential learning/arts/science, to engaging community-based events with migrant students & families, to innovative collaborations with local non-profits that safely get our kids outdoors and learning through adventure.

Whatever your needs may be, summertime projects and beyond, our NWESD MEP coordinators are dedicated to supporting our district partners. You’re only ever an e-mail or a phone call away from top-notch assistance, and these folks truly mean it when they say there’s never a question too big or too small!
