Call to Order / Pledge of Allegiance
The special meeting of the Northwest Educational Service District Board of Directors was held in person on Thursday, February 16, 2024. Board Chair Sue Phillips called the meeting to order at 3:55 PM at the Northwest Educational Service District in Anacortes, WA.

Executive Session
Chair Phillips recessed into Executive Session at 4:05 p.m. to consider qualifications of applicants for public employment, expected to last approximately three hours with no action to follow. Chair Phillips reconvened into regular session at 7:07 p.m. for a break.
Chair Phillips again recessed into Executive Session at 7:14 p.m. to consider qualifications of applicants for public employment, expected to last approximately one hour with action to follow. Chair Phillips reconvened into regular session at 8:16 p.m.
Regular Meeting
NWESD Superintendent Search
Approval of Selection of the NWESD Superintendent
Interviews of the three superintendent finalists were held in executive session earlier with subsequent deliberation of the finalists’ qualifications.
Jack Thompson moved, and Merle Kirkley seconded, to approve the selection of Dr. Ismael Vivanco as the superintendent of the NWESD effective July 1, 2024. Motion carried.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:19 PM
