A message from Migrant Identification and Recruitment Program Supervisor Carlos Gonzalez:
- We were very intentional in the process from 2020 to 2023.
- As of 2020, we have spent endless hours working with the Executive Cabinet, Migrant and OSSI staff, State Advisory Committee, and Consultant Dr. Zavala and reviewed state and federal documents and data to guide our decision.
- Federal guidelines for recruiting changed and COVID proved to be an opportunity to re-think our collective approach.
- Partnership with Sunnyside School District and OSPI is still a priority.
- Ultimately, our goal and priority is to revise the contract to better meet the needs of our students and families.
- As a reminder, all new Migrant Education Staff should continue to request access to MSIS via this link.
Where are Identification and Recruitment flyers and brochures coming from this year?
ID&R materials will no longer be distributed by MSDRS and will need to be created locally. OSPI anticipates to release flyer and poster templates by late October 2023. In the meantime please use the following Washington MEP Branding Guide and Official Logo to create original local materials.
