To complete a nomination form for Teacher of the Year or Classified Employee of the Year, you will need the following:
- Name of your nominee, email address, and basic information about their current position, supervisor, school, district, and Educational Service District.
- Your name, contact information, and relationship to the nominee.
- A statement about why you are nominating this educator for the award.
Nominations for Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year are due March 1, 2023
Washington’s Teacher of the Year program recognizes as many as ten regional finalists and selects one state Teacher of the Year annually. This state Teacher of the Year is Washington’s nominee for the National Teacher of the Year.
The State Superintendent recognizes the Regional Classified School Employees of the Year and announces the state Classified School Employee of the Year at an annual award ceremony. The state award winner and regional finalists participate in a year of leadership development and are invited to several annual recognition events including the Reception at the Mansion for award-winning educators. The state award winner is Washington’s nominee for the US Department of Education’s national Recognizing Inspiring School Employees (RISE) award.
