Monroe School District Announces Interim Superintendent

After July 28, 2022 interviews for the interim superintendent for Monroe School District, the school board voted unanimously to offer the position to Dr. Marci Larsen, contingent on the successful negotiation of a contract.

Dr. Marci Larsen recently retired as Superintendent of the Mukilteo School District where she served in that role for almost 17 years. Dr. Larsen’s other professional experiences include Executive Director of Teaching and Learning; Director of Curriculum, Assessment and Learning Technology; Principal; Assistant Principal; and Elementary Teacher. She obtained her Doctoral Degree in Leadership & Policy Studies, Curriculum & Instruction, and Business Administration from the University of Washington. Her Master’s Degree in School Administration and Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and Speech Pathology & Audiology were obtained from Western Washington University. Her community leadership and service include the Economic Alliance of Snohomish County Board of Trustees; Washington Association of School Administrators; Snohomish County Volunteers of America; YMCA Board; Washington Alliance for Better Schools; Rotary and the United Way of Snohomish County Board.
