On January 26, 2022, the Northwest Educational Service District(NWESD) Board of Directors approved Ann McMurray as District 7 Representative. McMurray, a resident of Brier, WA, will represent the Edmonds and Mukilteo school districts east of Highway 99. McMurray replaces Claudia Buxton who served as the District 7 Representative for seven years. Buxton retired from the NWESD Board of Directors on September 23, 2021.
McMurray has been advocating and volunteering on behalf of public education for over 30 years, serving in many capacities from school district PTOs to various committees, most recently with the Edmonds School District. When she is not working to improve public education, you can find McMurray reading, walking, or gardening. She is also an avid reader and watcher of science fiction. In joining the NWESD Board of Directors McMurray hopes to bring an informed and constructive perspective and a collaborative team approach.
