National Drug Take Back

Saturday, October 26th | 10 am to 2 pm in all locations (unless otherwise noted)

Protect your loved ones and the environment. Dispose of unwanted, unused or expired opioid prescriptions at a Drug Take Back event near you.

Skagit County

United General District 304 in partnership with local prevention coalitions and law enforcement will be taking back all prescription and over-the counter medications, including liquids and pet meds, are accepted in their original containers or in sealable bags. We cannot accept injection medications, syringes/lancets, illegal drugs – including cannabis, medical waste, vitamins, or batteries.

Free locking medication bags will be available for people to safely store any medicines that are left in the home and information about other community services.

Whatcom County

Dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired opioids and other prescriptions at your local Take Back event or permanent drop off location. Clean out you cupboard and bring the medications to us at the North Fork Library. Drop it in the red box and we will deliver them to the DEA for proper disposal.

The goal is to decrease the number of accidental poisonings occurring in the household due to unwanted medications. This can be due to medication mistakes due to excess unused medications, teenage abuse of opiates, and childhood poisoning due to accessible medications. Currently, accidental poisoning is the number one reason for accidental death in the state of Washington.
