1321 – Retirement of a Policy

The Board may, by majority vote at a properly noticed public meeting, retire a Board-adopted policy when the Board determines that the policy:

  • Is no longer necessary for the governance or operation of the NWESD 189;
  • Has been superseded by another Board-adopted policy or procedure;
  • Duplicates or conflicts with current federal and/or state law or regulation; or
  • Is otherwise obsolete or no longer aligned with NWESD 189 practices.

The Board will not retire any policy that is required by federal and/or state law or regulation, including rules adopted by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Nothing in this policy authorizes the retirement of legal obligations imposed on the NWESD 189 by law.
