6260 – Student Incentives

The NWESD 189 is frequently asked by member school districts to provide services to students because typical educational environments do not adequately serve their special needs, (e.g., special education services to students categorized as seriously behaviorally disabled).

Successfully educating these special students sometimes requires extraordinary tactics. Research has documented some success in providing motivational incentives to these students to perform appropriately.

The Superintendent shall develop and administer an appropriate motivational incentive program. This program may include giving nominally valued incentives to these students for desired academic performance and/or conduct.
