5630 – Volunteers / Interns
The NWESD 189 recognizes the valuable contribution made to its programs through volunteer or intern assistance. In working with volunteers/interns, NWESD 189 staff shall clearly explain the volunteer’s/intern’s responsibility for supervision. On field trips both students and volunteers/interns are to be informed of the rules of student behavior and the means by which they are to be held accountable to those rules.
The Superintendent shall be responsible for developing and implementing procedures for the use of volunteers/interns. The selection and use of volunteers/interns will be consistent with those policies and procedures as specified for unsupervised volunteers in Policy 5005.
