Washington State Teacher of the Year Robert Hand from Mount Vernon High School helps to kick-off a classroom funding campaign.

“On average teachers spend about $500 out of their own pocket, on classroom supplies every year. That can be very hard for teachers, but I think if you ask any teacher they would tell you that it is money well spent. However, teachers need support in providing supplies for their students.” – Robert Hand

This October, in support of classroom teachers and faculty throughout the state of Washington, Inspirus Credit Union is giving $80,000 back to the education community. $50,000 will go towards classroom grants and $30,000 will go towards warm coats, gloves, and hats to helps kids prepare for school during the winter months.

Teachers can post a project they would like to see funded in their classroom at the button below and visit the Inspirus FaceBook page during the month of October to view grantee awards.
