Lakewood School District Announces New Superintendent

Marysville, WA – Following a lengthy and thorough superintendent search conducted by Northwest Leadership Associates, the Lakewood School District Board of Directors has unanimously announced the selection of Scott Peacock. Mr. Peacock is expected to start in Lakewood on July 1, 2019, pending a contract agreement.

Mr. Peacock has served in the Snohomish School District since 1993 with a total of nine years of district-level leadership in Snohomish. A former English and History teacher and a middle school principal, Mr. Peacock was also the assistant superintendent of Snohomish schools and was promoted to deputy superintendent last year. He is responsible for the oversight of the district’s Teaching and Learning Department. This past year he assumed responsibilities for Special Education. Mr. Peacock is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Washington.

Mr. Peacock will be replacing retiring Superintendent Michael Mack. Mr. Mack has been in charge of the district since 2014, in retirement, he plans to become superintendent of the International Schools Group in Saudi Arabia.

Snohomish School District serves 9,795 students. The Lakewood School District has nearly 2,500 students.
