About

Supporting the efforts of our region’s schools to engage educators in meaningful mathematics learning so that all students have access to mathematical practices and dispositions that will enhance their K-12 mathematics experience

Regional Mathematics Coordinator, Tina Mott, will facilitate the Math Learning Network (MLN) for the 2018-2019 school year. Our focus will continue to be on building teacher leadership capacity for implementation of what is now referred to as the Washington State Mathematics Standards.

We will engage in strategies that impact instruction including the overlap of content and practice standards, student access and equity, and protocols around looking at student work to develop next steps.  In addition, members of the MLN will reflect on their role as a leader in their respective buildings and districts.  As a network educator, you will have an opportunity to share your learning around leadership experiences.

The MLN is open to all interested Math teachers. New members are invited to participate. Please note that we ask for those who enroll to make every effort to attend all four meetings.

In each session, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with other professionals
  • Plan and reflect on the application of their learning
  • Challenge biases that block students from accessing opportunities to learning

Dates, Times, & Cost

All sessions are at the NWESD from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm.
24 clock hours are available
Cost for all four sessions is $25
