Our current course topics include:

First Steps in Mathematics: Facilitator Course
These 'train the trainer' courses are the most cost effective way for schools or districts to deliver their own First Steps in Mathematics courses to a large number of teachers. Facilitators attending this comprehensive seven-day course are provided with intensive training and support materials that will help them provide high quality professional development and ongoing support for other teachers.

First Steps in Mathematics: Teacher Course
This hands-on, eighteen hour course focuses on helping teachers make effective use of the First Steps in Mathematics materials in their own classrooms. Teachers will have time to discuss and explore crucial aspects of Key Understandings outlined in each resource book.

Math Coach Professional Learning Community
Join other math coaches in the region in a collegial environment to share coaching strategies, learn from each other, and keep up-to-date on what’s happening in mathematics in the state. We meet several times throughout the year at NWESD, all math coaches are welcome. Contact the Mathematics Coordinator for more information.

Supporting Powerful Formative Assessment in Math and Science: Tools for Teacher Leaders
