Sponsored by the Autism Outreach Project, Michelle Garcia Winner will be presenting a two-day workshop in Mount Vernon, WA, on November 15 & 16, 2010. Michelle is a Congressional-award winning speech-language pathologist who developed the Social Thinking curriculum and specializes in treating students who are experiencing social and communication challenges.
The Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders published research supporting her Social Thinking approach for high-functioning autism and Asperger syndrome.

Autism Outreach Project Summer Training
The Combined Summer Institute held July 12-15, in Yakima, Washington is co-sponsored by the Autism Outreach Project. In 2010, the theme for CSI will be "Team Collaboration for Student Success" for students with autism, blind/visual impairments, deafness/hearing loss, brain injury, and multiple disabilities. The overall focus of the 2010 Institute will be on providing appropriate and successful inclusion in the curriculum through use of team collaboration for each developmental stage and transition. The Autism Strand will provide sessions to meet the needs of families and professionals working with children with autism spectrum disorders. Distance Learning Opportunities
Through the use of videoconference, we provide training directly to your site. Upon request, Autism Outreach Project classes are available statewide to any location with access to K-20 videoconferencing. Contact the Autism Outreach Project, pyates@nwesd.org or 1-888-704-9633, for information on participating by videoconference.
Target Audience
Everyone is welcome. Workshops are designed for individuals working with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders, including general and special educators, early childhood educators, school administrators, educational support staff, related-service providers, families, transition coordinators, and other professionals.
Registration Fees
All courses are $90 per person.
Clock Hours
5 clock hours ($15) are available at each class.
Fees for clock hours are to be paid separately at the class session. Do not include clock hour fees with your registration.
