Teaching and Learning

The Teaching and Learning Department at NWESD provides focused leadership to deliver quality, coordinated services to meet district needs in our shared goal of improving student achievement.  Together We Can. . .

Assist districts in school improvement planning technical assistance, coaching for district/school leaders; research-based study team resources, student learning plan construction, school accreditation, and technical support in assessment, curriculum alignment, and instruction;

Organize sustained professional development academies for paraeducators, principals, science and math teachers, math coaches, and teachers of English Language Learners; preparing and delivering customized professional development in literacy, math, and science;

Host regional student programs providing opportunity for greater student achievement;

Sponsor regional cooperatives including: Science Materials Center, LASER , Classroom-Based Assessment, and Northwest History Consortium among others;

Disseminate information, creating collaborations, and acting as liaison for districts and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
